Is it possible that human beings have a …urning that draws them to their heavenly home.

Every man, woman, and child has felt the call of heaven at some point in their life.

The sublime message of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that God is our Father.

No matter your history…know that you are not alone. God still calls to you. The Savior still extends His hand to you.

Two reasons to turn to the Lord:

  1. Your life will be better.
  2. God will use you to make the lives of others better.

God allows adversity to test the just and the unjust.

Sometimes it seems that our lives are more difficult because we are trying to live our faith.

Those who incline their hearts to God will be encircled by His peace.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Turn your soul to the light.

Blessings will not come so much because of our abilities but because of our choices.

The history of God’s work is filled with people who considered themselves inadequate.

No matter your position in your community or in the church, God will use you if you are willing.

No, life is not a self-driving car. It is not an airplane on autopilot.

Discipleship requires a willingness to swim upstream if needed.

The church is designed to bless your life, and improve your home, community, and nation.

We must lose ourselves in service to others.

We live in a culture where more and more we live on a small little screen.

We need to show more tangible concern and interest in those around us.

The essence of living the gospel is service.

What good does it do to save the world if we neglect the needs of those closest to us, of those we love the most?

Changing the world begins with strengthening your own family.

There will always be someone at every church meeting you attend…that needs a friend.

You have something important to contribute at every meeting or activity.

We are not just receivers and takers of what is offered at church. We need to be givers and suppliers.

Instead of looking at your phone, stop, look around, and ask, “Who needs me today?”

Remember that some of the greatest needs may be those right in front of you.

Even if your family situation is less than perfect, you can find ways to serve, lift, and strengthen.

Dallin OaksDallin H. Oaks – Quorum of Twelve Apostles

Our Heavenly Father’s ultimate desire for his children is…exaltation in families.

Salvation is an individual matter. Exaltation is a family matter.

Those who strive for exaltation must make personal choices in family life in accordance to the Lords way when it differs from the world’s way.

The Book of Mormon teaches that this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God.

Latter-day Saints have a unique world view that helps them understand the need to keep the commandments of God.

Every generation that has sought to follow God’s plan has had challenges.

Those who do understand God’s plan are always commanded to choose the Lord’s plan rather than the world’s plan.

The Proclamation on the family is a statement of eternal truth.

Our attitude toward and our use of the family proclamation is one of our tests of this generation.

The primary purpose of our assignments is to bless others and to do good.

As we discover our gifts we have a responsibility to develop them.

Our trials help us discover and prepare for the work Heavenly Father has in store for us.

Rely on God.

To perform the work Heavenly Father has for us we must strive to be clean.

Every assignment from God is important.

We must bring the Savior into our lives completely.

We cannot be content to remain as we are.

To eat the flesh and drink the blood of Christ means to pursue holiness.

Holiness is what we seek.

Our mortal experiences offer us the opportunity to choose holiness.

We must make the Savior’s attributes our own.

The glorious truth is, we are not alone.

The scriptures were written to bless and encourage us.

When celestial goals seem beyond our reach…

The Lord doesn’t give us commandments that He knows we can’t keep.

Satan has somehow managed to make covenants and commandments to seem like curses and condemnations.

As children of God we should not demean or vilify ourselves.

We live in a fallen world, and we are, for now, a fallen people.

“Here in mortality, perfection is still pending.” -Elder Nelson

From the beginning, the gospel has been for the perfecting of the saints.

Our only hope for true perfection is in receiving it as a gift from heaven. We won’t earn it.

Every one of us is a debtor.

His atonement is an unfathomable gift given at in incomprehensible cost.

It is not too much for Them to ask us to be a little more God-like in little things.

Except for Jesus, there have been no flawless performances on this earthly journey we are pursuing.

Let’s strive for steady improvement without obsessing.

Give your help to ANYONE trying to walk the road back to God.

If we persevere, then someone in eternity, or refinement will be finished and complete.

In this and every hour, He is, with nail-scarred hand, extending that saving grace…
