Favorite Chapters – Moroni 7

This is the second in a series of my favorite chapters in the scriptures. Moroni 7 is found near the end of the Book of Mormon, and it outlines some really fantastic principles for life, especially when discerning between good and evil, and building faith. These great truths were recorded shortly before Moroni sealed up and buried the plates that would be translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith over a thousand years later. For those who don’t know, Moroni is the angel depicted on top of the temples.

Here are my highlights…

“But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.” –verse 13

“For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.” –verse 16

“And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.” –verse 33

“And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise.” –verse 41

“But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.” –verse 47

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.” –verse 48
